Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)

What is IEMT?

IEMT is an effective change work therapy that deals with trauma and negative emotions.

Using guided precise eye movements, IEMT brings you more into the present moment and enables you to quickly disconnect from past negative experiences. The eye movements trigger different parts of the brain to be activated, changing the way the brain recalls and experiences the memory and therefore the attached feelings.

Why choose IEMT?

Unlike many psychological therapeutic processes, IEMT does not require you to disclose lots of details about your experience or give details about troublesome events. It can be content free.

What can I expect during an IEMT Session?

During an IEMT session you will be asked a set of questions to illicit specific information and enable you to identify a memory to work on. Once you have identified a memory to work on, you will be asked to hold the visual representation of the memory in your mind as I will guide your eyes in different directions for a few seconds. You will then be asked some follow-up questions to identify what change has occurred and if any other feelings are coming up for you.
During an IEMT session you will be challenged to be specific and direct in your answers and any problematic or damaging behaviours will be identified and worked on. You can expect to learn about any unconscious patterns of behaviour that might be holding you back.
